Foreword from Mr Raj Rajkumar
Chairman of 2010 Gala Committee
July 27th, 2010
Dear Members & Friends,
On behalf of the Singapore Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (SVCA), it is my pleasure to invite you to celebrate the induction of the pioneers in our industry into the SVCA Hall of Fame and the launch of the SVCA Annual Awards program at the Gala Dinner on October 5th, 2010 at the Shangri-La Hotel.
The inaugural inductees into the SVCA Hall of Fame are VC/PE pioneers: Mr. Timothy Chia, Mr. Lee Kheng Nam, Dr. Christopher Leong, Mr. Tan Keng Boon and Mr. Anil Thadani. These individuals have over 20 years each of VC/PE experience, and the highlight of the Gala Dinner will be an on-stage interview in which they will share their perspectives on the industry and their careers.
The Annual Awards program is being launched this year to recognize the best performing VC/PE backed companies, as well as the best exits realized. Nominations are being received and the finalists will be announced shortly. Winners will be announced at the Gala Dinner and, depending on the award category, awards will be presented to the portfolio companies, investors, legal advisors and financial advisors associated with the outstanding deals.
Tables (of 10 seats) are now on sale for this elegant Gala event. To book your table, please use the response form available here. Table placement will be based on date of purchase, and you are encouraged to purchase early to ensure prime table location. A few seats will be reserved for SVCA members who would prefer to purchase seats instead of full tables. More information on individual seat sales will be available at a later date.
Proceeds from this Gala event will, as in the past, be used to cover a portion of the association’s operating expenses. This year, however, we have decided to donate the funds raised in excess of the budgeted amount to “Molly” -- National Library Board’s mobile library and Singapore’s leading initiative to promote reading and literacy among disadvantaged children. Our donation will be used to equip Molly with digital media in the form of audio books and educational DVDs.
Please join us in making this event a success; we look forward to your enthusiastic support and participation.
Warm regards,
Raj Rajkumar
Vice Chairman, SVCA
Chairman, 2010 Gala Committee
