Chris Loh is a Managing Partner at Axiom Asia (www.axiomasia.com) which manages US$5.2 billion focused on private equity and venture capital investments in Asia. Axiom Asia was established in 2006 and has five flagship funds under management. The investment team consists of 18 professionals all based in Asia. Chris is responsible for Axiom’s venture capital investments and also PE/VC investments in India. He had nine years of private equity experience with GIC Special Investments and worked for seven years as an engineer at DSO National Laboratories. Chris earned his Bachelor of Electronics Engineering from University of Tokyo and completed two master programs at the National University of Singapore. Chris is fluent in English, Mandarin and Japanese.
Abrar Mir is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Quadria Capital, the largest healthcare focused private equity firm in Asia with over US$1.5b in managed capital. Abrar is actively involved in managing the firm and serves on the fund's Investment Committee. Abrar has led private equity and capital markets transactions with an aggregate value of over US$40 billion across Asia, US and Europe. Abrar currently serves on the boards of Medica Synergie, Soho Global Health, FV Hospitals, MWH Healthcare, Lablink, Orilus Investments and Medisia Investment Holdings. Abrar received a M.Phil in International Law from the University of Cambridge and is fluent in five languages.
Niklas Rowold, Managing Director, Investor Relations Managing Director, joined CVC in 2016. Nik is a member of the investor relations team in Hong Kong. Prior to joining CVC, he worked at Providence Equity where he was responsible for business development in Asia. Nik has an MSc in finance from London Business School, and a BA in economics and BS in finance from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Danny Tan is the head of our investment funds practice in Asia Pacific. Danny is widely regarded as one of the top investment funds lawyers in Singapore. With two decades of experience advising on investment funds, capital markets, and mergers and acquisitions, Danny has extensive experience in fund formation and restructuring, fund investments and fund regulatory matters. His expertise with both onshore and offshore fund vehicles is well regarded in the Singapore fund management industry, whether for private equity funds, hedge funds, fund of funds, real estate, infrastructure or venture capital funds. He frequently acts for governmental bodies and sovereign wealth funds, local and international fund managers, family offices and financial institutions. Danny is ranked Band 1 by Chambers and Partners and named as a Leading Individual by Legal 500 in his relevant field in Singapore.
Jean Woo is a partner in our finance, funds and restructuring practice. She has more than 13 years of experience across a wide range of banking transactions from structured trade and commodity, special situations financings, leveraged/pre-IPO financing, fund financing and real estate finance. Jean is recognised for her expertise across a full range of bank finance products by Chambers Asia and Legal 500. Clients have commented that Jean is noted for her ‘stellar service’, ‘technical skills’, ‘industry knowledge’ and ‘pragmatic solutions’. She is one of the firm's gender champions and sits on the Ashurst global diversity & inclusion advisory group. Jean is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and a solicitor and advocate in Singapore.
Nicola Hopkins is a partner in our investment funds practice. Nicola has over 21 years' experience in the investment management industry and advises on all aspects of private institutional investment products and transactions. Nicola acts for both sponsors and investors and her experience includes the structuring, establishing and reorganising of real estate, private equity, infrastructure, debt and hedge funds, and related carry arrangements. In addition to funds, Nicola has experience of joint ventures and club arrangements. She advises major investors in relation to their investments, including secondary disposals of fund investments.
