SPEAKERS

Daniel Ho

Partner – M&A Tax | Deloitte & Touche LLP, Singapore

Daniel is a partner with more than 17 years of tax experience serving local and listed companies in Singapore as well as multinational companies in industries such as real estate, fund management, consumer products and shipping/energy and resources. He has extensive experience in Singapore and international tax consultancy and planning in the area of corporate restructuring, supply-chain planning, mergers and acquisitions and permanent establishment issues. Daniel has been involved in numerous tax structuring and due diligence assignments for corporates and PE funds. He is well-versed in the Singapore fund management incentive regime and has assisted funds & fund managers in the application for these incentives. 

Daniel is currently a faculty member of the Deloitte International Corporate Tax School and a former part-time lecturer for the subject “Principles of Taxation” at the Nanyang Technological University. Daniel graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) and has completed the CFA program. He is a non-practising member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Singapore and Accredited Tax Advisor (Income Tax) – Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals (SIATP). He is also a member of the Tax Academy’s Curriculum and Examination Development (CED) Committee.

 

Jack Tey

Partner, Audit | | Deloitte & Touche LLP, Singapore

Jack has over 15 years of public accounting experience, including three years with Deloitte in New York.

He has extensive experience in providing accounting advisory services to companies in Asia, including GAAP conversion projects and advising on complex technical accounting issues in US GAAP and IFRS.

He worked with clients across various industries, including telecommunications, consumer business, media, port, logistics and private equity industry.

Jack is a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

 

Aylwin How

Partner, Audit | | Deloitte & Touche LLP, Singapore

Aylwin serves as Partner with the Singapore Financial Services Industry team.  He is part of the technical accounting team, focusing on financial instruments accounting. Deloitte Singapore is the IFRS centre of excellence in Southeast Asia (“SEA”). Aylwin is also actively involved in leading accounting advisory projects within SEA, particularly on financial instruments accounting, including IFRS 9 implementation.

Aylwin began his career with Deloitte Singapore in the financial services sector.  He is involved in audits of financial institutions including multi-national banks, commodity traders and fund/brokers. He spent 2 years with the National Professional Practice Department, focusing on IFRS accounting surrounding financial instruments accounting.

In addition to graduating from Bachelor of Accountancy administered by Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore in 2004, Aylwin also graduated from MSc Financial Engineering, administered by NTU, in 2009. Aylwin is also a part-time instructor in NTU for undergraduate and postgraduate studies covering accounting topics including business combinations and derivatives- hedge accounting. He has co-authored a book on derivatives and hedge accounting, used for academic studies.
