Venture capital investments are pouring into Singapore and the rest of Southeast Asia, with the promise of greater returns and untapped potential. The region’s start-up ecosystem is maturing at a never-before-seen pace. With this as the backdrop, a growing need arose for deals to be structured faster and completed more cost-efficiently. Enter the Venture Capital Investment Model Agreements (“VIMA”), launched by the Singapore Academy of Law and the Singapore Venture Capital and Private Equity Association in October 2018.

Join us to learn the background and objectives of VIMA, and have a walkthrough of the suite of VIMA documents (highlighting points of note and key issues), before concluding with some thoughts on VIMA from a practitioner’s perspective. In a free-flowing discussion, the panellists will also share valuable anecdotes about their experiences, and their views and observations on the state of venture capital in the region.

The Venture Capital Investment Model Agreements (“VIMA”) Kit was prepared by the VIMA Working Group.
